Santa Claus arrived on a Salisbury Fire Department fire engine handing out candy to the children before the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Salisbury Common on Sunday night. After the lighting, which was sponsored by the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce and the Salisbury Historical Society with refreshments provided by the East Parish United Methodist Church and the Institution For Savings. Tours of the Historical Society building, where the East Parish parsonage used to be, were given before the event with refreshments being served there afterwards.
