Amesbury resident and actress Christine Remus brought to life the story of Susannah North Martin, accused of being a witch, to a crowd of 20 at the Amesbury Senior Center on Wednesday afternoon. Martin, who was born in England in 1621 and moved with her family to Salisbury, in an area that later became Amesbury, in 1639. She was convicted of being a witch and was hung near Gallows Hill in Salem on July 19, 1692.
