Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Leo Roy and several dozen people braved the rain to celebrate the opening of the new comfort station at Salisbury Beach State Reservation during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday afternoon. Located along W Street, the $2.8 million comfort station project, replaces an outdated bathhouse and will provide campers with important bathhouse amenities during the peak visitor season. Details of the new comfort station include: ADA compliance, increased bathroom space with showers, an outdoor rinse station, a bottle filling station with filtered water, a dog watering station, and a campsite store.
