BRYAN EATON/Staff photo. Harbor seals rest on rocks in the Merrimack River off Salisbury Beach State Reservation late Tuesday morning as the incoming tide lapped at their bodies. The marine mammals, that summer along the Maine coast, once had a bounty on their heads as they survive in fish and crustaceans. Maine ended the practice in 1905 and Massachusetts in 1962.
