BRYAN EATON/Staff photo. This past winter the Molin Upper Elementary School hosted visiting artist Porfirio Gutierrez, a Zapotec weaver from Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico, who came from a family of weavers and talked about the craft to the fourth grade students. Teacher Anne Enaire applied for a Weaving the Community Together grant where students are able to use weaving to promote focus, patience and perseverance, as well as community building. After making small weavings, the students are working on a weaving of a Clipper ship, from left, Ella Tierney, 9, Avery Stare and Ben Brooks, both 10.
