Bethany Dorau of Historic New England travelled to France to visit the grave of Newburyport native Eben Bradbury, Jr. who was killed in World War 1 where she placed a medal from Towle manufacturing and earth from his Bromfield Street home. One of the letters that Bradbury's father sent to him date May 19, 1918 that was returned with the notation "killed in action."
