MIDwalkjvaThe Middleton Stream Team has led seasonal hikes for 20 years. Our 21st winter hike will be on Sunday afternoon29 Januaryin the undeveloped northern third of Middleton where there are more beavers than people. Their dozen or more dams there have produced rich well watered and sun filled habitats for fellow creatures and shallow water plants. Two decades ago before the beavers returnedthese now flooded beaver meadows were shaded red maple swamps. The maples have died now the meadows are submerged under icecovered water. Please join us for this winter's hike at 1230PM at Mundy Bridge where Boston Brook crosses in culverts under North Liberty Street into Prichards Pond. The hike will be on rough wooded trails and icewhere safefrom 1230 until about 300. If the snow is too deep a reschedule will be posted on our website. Call 9787774584 with questions.
