Various Newburyport School staff members learned to become Stop the Bleed instructors under the direction of Elizabeth Pahigian, RN MS, Lawrence General Hospital Trauma Program Manager and parent of three Newburyport Public School children. Five specialized trauma kits costing $4,000, one for each school in Newburyport: the Bresnahan School, the Nock Middle/Molin Upper Elementary School, high school, Immaculate Conception School and River Valley Charter School, were donated by Benatti Jewelers owners Karyn and Matt Khatib, and parents to two Immaculate Conception students. Two Stop the Bleed training kits were donated by Newburyport Development in which all of the city schools will share at a cost of $1,900. Chris Skiba is a Newburyport Development executive and spouse of Candi Skiba, Bresnahan Speech Pathologist, and parents to two Newburyport Public School children.
